A leading NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Psychologist to join the Early Intervention Team in Barnsley. The role involves providing specialist clinical psychology services to individuals experiencing First Episode Psychosis and At Risk Mental State. The successful candidate will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care and contributing to service development initiatives.
37.5 hours per week
We at the Early Intervention Team are looking for a new Psychologist to join the team. The post is based at Kendray hospital site & the successful candidate will provide specialist clinical psychology skills within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users of the service.
They will provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychologist colleagues, professionals from other agencies, and carers. They will be clinically responsible to a senior clinical psychologist. Clinical oversight of all work will be held by the clinical lead in the service.
The post is with Barnsley Early Intervention in Psychosis team. The community team is based in Barnsley and supports people between the ages of 14-65 who are experiencing First Episode Psychosis (FEP) or At Risk Mental State (ARMS).
The philosophy underpinning the service is recovery orientated with care focusing upon social inclusion strategies aimed at promoting independence. A strengths approach to empower service users and carers is central to service delivery.
We are a family friendly team; our opening hours are 8.00am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9-5 on weekends. The post holder will be expected to work predominantly Monday to Friday 9-5 however, flexibility and a healthy work-life balance are promoted in the team.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team while observing Trust and National policies and procedures.
The post holder will provide support to Assistant Psychologists and Doctoral trainees. They will utilize research skills in audit, service development, and research relevant to the post.
