We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells, a category C resettlement prison in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, housing approximately 1,780 patients aged 18+. In this role, you will collaborate with the mental health team to develop on-site psychologist services and manage 2 Assistant Psychologists. You will also handle a small caseload of patients with complex mental health needs.


Hours


The site currently offers a Monday to Friday work pattern from 08:30 to 16:30, with some flexibility.


Salary


This full-time position offers an annual salary of up to £62,000, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the IMHT with assessments and interventions for complex patients, providing consultation and reflective practice to the team, and clinical supervision to assistant psychologists
  • Undertaking psychological assessments, supporting multidisciplinary formulations, and delivering psychological interventions for highly complex cases
  • Utilising research skills for audit, policy, service development, and research, supporting evidence-based therapies within the team

  • Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society-accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate training in clinical psychology
  • At least 3 years of assessed experience as a qualified clinical/forensic/counselling psychologist post-qualification
  • Experience in highly specialist psychological assessments and both individual and group treatments across various care settings
