Job description

Job Summary

Evolve Psychology Services is seeking an experienced Neurodevelopmental Specialist to join our growing Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. This role involves conducting Autism and/or ADHD assessments for children referred via NHS Patient Choice and GP referrals. The position is based in a new clinic in the North East of England, with hybrid working options available.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive diagnostic assessments using established tools, such as ADOS-2 and ADI-R, and providing clear, evidence-based reports with tailored recommendations. You may also be required to assess co-occurring mental health conditions.

This role is well-suited for a qualified clinician (such as a Practitioner Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, or Paediatrician) with experience in neurodevelopmental assessments. Depending on experience, there may be opportunities for supervision and mentoring of junior staff.

Evolve Psychology Services offers flexible working options, ongoing professional development, and a supportive team environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative service delivering high-quality assessments that make a real impact on the lives of children and families.

Main duties of the job
  1. Conduct comprehensive Autism and ADHD assessments for children using gold-standard diagnostic tools (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R).
  2. Assess and identify co-occurring mental health conditions where necessary.
  3. Prepare detailed, evidence-based diagnostic reports with clear recommendations.
  4. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
  5. Support and supervise junior staff, depending on experience.
  6. Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold professional standards in assessment and reporting.
