NHS Tayside is seeking a Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join their Tayside-wide Perinatal Mental Health Team. The role focuses on supporting mothers experiencing mental health issues during the perinatal period and enhancing the parent-infant relationship. The Tayside-wide Perinatal Mental Health Team is looking to recruit a Band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist. The service forms a central hub with outreach in each of the 3 localities in Tayside (Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross). Clinical focus will be on work with mothers who are experiencing mental health difficulties during the perinatal period. Particular focus will also be given to the parent-infant relationship.
The role will have close links with the Maternity and Neonatal Psychology team and the NHS Tayside Infant Mental Health Service.
There will be professional links to the Tayside Area Psychological Therapies service which has a complement of around 150 clinical and applied psychology staff. The Department provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment with a commitment to training of applied psychologists and advancing research. There are links with the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Stirling. Members of the department contribute to the supervision and training of trainees on the Edinburgh/East and South of Scotland Clinical Psychology Training programme, the Universities of Stirling and Dundee MSc Adult Applied Psychology course and the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh MSc Child Applied Psychology course.
