Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) is seeking a Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work within Doncaster CAMHS. The role covers Getting Advice and Getting Help pathways, providing specialist assessment, formulation and therapy for children and young people with emotional and mental health needs.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to consultation, care planning, risk assessment and evidence-based, trauma-informed care for families.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Doncaster Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This is an exciting opportunity to work across the Getting Advice and Getting Help pathways, supporting children, young people and families experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.

As a psychologist within the team, you will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people presenting with complex emotional and mental health needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute psychological expertise to consultation, care planning, risk assessment and intervention, ensuring that care is evidence-based, trauma-informed and centred on the needs of children, young people and their families.

The role will involve working across both the Getting Advice and Getting Help pathways. Within Getting Advice, you will provide consultation, psychological formulation and support to professionals, helping to ensure children and young people receive the right support at the right time. Within Getting Help, you will undertake specialist assessments and deliver a range of psychological interventions for children and young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma-related presentations, behavioural difficulties and other common mental health concerns.

The post holder will provide a specialist psychological service to children, young people and families within the Doncaster CAMHS Getting Advice and Getting Help pathways. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will undertake psychological assessments, develop evidence-based formulations and deliver a range of therapeutic interventions for children and young people presenting with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.
