Job description

This is a Project Management role focused on delivering various projects within a healthcare organisation, with a technical aspect. The post holder will operate within a wider team providing professional portfolio, programme, and project management services. They will manage multiple Trust-led projects, working closely with customers to ensure high-quality service delivery. Responsibilities include delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards, supporting customer business needs, and leading on technical aspects with third parties. The role requires managing projects using recognised methodologies, demonstrating risk management and financial control, and managing project teams and activities in line with standards and policies.

Responsibilities

1. The Digital Project Lead manages a portfolio of projects for the trust, working within the Digital Services team to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project schedules. The postholder will work independently, making decisions on work execution within broad policies.
2. Responsible for planning, delivering, and organising projects using appropriate methodologies aligned with departmental processes.
3. Ensure compliance with governance processes, DPIAs, etc.
4. Maintain oversight of work streams, identifying risks, issues, dependencies, and relationships, and implementing mitigation or corrective actions.
5. Manage project budgets, resources, timescales, and costs; provide regular reports to the Project Board and stakeholders.
6. Build credibility with clinicians, managers, and stakeholders, using expertise to drive service change.
7. Encourage collaborative working, motivate staff, and manage change effectively.
8. Use high-level communication skills to keep stakeholders informed and guide staff as needed.

Person Specification

1. Proven experience in project management roles with relevant environment experience.
2. Track record of delivering services to standards, on time, and within budget.
3. Effective supplier and contract management skills.
4. Strong organisational and administrative skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Project, Visio, Excel).
6. Ability to build relationships across directorates.
7. Degree level education in computing, business management, or equivalent experience.
8. Relevant project management qualification (Prince2 or equivalent).
