Job overview

The role involves time within the Training and Development Department (3 days per week) and with the Getting More Help teams (2 days), focusing on duty work.

The educational responsibilities include designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs on suicide prevention for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, collaborating with other clinical practice educators, and employing various teaching methods, from coaching to online learning. An induction program and peer supervision are provided, with opportunities for further development and qualification in teaching.

The clinical duties are embedded within the CAMHS Getting More Help Duty provision, supporting responses to concerns about mental health deterioration or increased risk.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop staff in clinical practice, including students and healthcare professionals.
  • Work clinically to enhance skills and knowledge within the team.
  • Ensure staff are trained in evidence-based interventions to national standards.
  • Identify practice development areas and lead learning initiatives.
  • Support ongoing staff development through various learning settings.
