Job summary

The Cambridge Clinical Mitochondrial Research Group (MitoCAMB) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Honorary Resident Doctor) to develop and validate new treatments and biomarkers for mitochondrial disorders. The post is part of a national translational Rare Disease Centre funded by LifeArc and MDUK, and focused on clinical translation and investigator-led studies.

Under Professors Chinnery, van den Ameele and Horvath, you will work across clinical and laboratory settings,

Qualifications

  • PhD required in a relevant medical/biomedical field.
  • Experience in neuromuscular or neurogenetic conditions is desirable.
  • Strong clinical and research track record with mitochondrial diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Support and drive clinical and translational studies in mitochondrial diseases.
  • Contribute to ongoing and new academic-led and commercial studies and trials.
  • Develop clinical, laboratory and computational skills for an independent research programme.
