We are offering a fixed-term 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide routine EEG and other Clinical Neurophysiology services for patients with developmental, neurological, and psychiatric disorders referred from across the Trust and other hospitals.
- Contribute to policies and procedures relevant to the role.
- Participate in training, education, and assessment aligned with national and professional standards, including data analysis, interpretation, and patient reporting.
- Engage in quality assurance, research, and developmental programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service.
- Maintain high standards of neurophysiological services.
- Work with the team to adapt to changing healthcare needs.
- Follow guidelines for policy implementation.
- Perform routine, sleep, and inpatient EEGs on adult and pediatric patients.
- Conduct Nerve Conduction Studies for conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Perform a range of evoked potentials, including Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP) and Somato-sensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP) for upper and lower limbs.
- Participate in team activities, audits, research, and development projects.
- Provide reports on neurophysiological investigations.
- Maintain professional development relevant to neurophysiology services.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and electrodes.
- Adhere to national, trust, and local policies and protocols.
- Under supervision, perform specialized neurophysiology investigations.
Department Information:
The Clinical Neurophysiology Departments at Guy’s, St Thomas’, and Evelina Children’s Hospital are part of the Neurology Department, offering a wide range of investigations including routine and sleep EEGs, multi-modality evoked potentials, EMG services, and specialized pediatric services such as video-telemetry and spinal cord monitoring.
