NHFT have recently undergone a medicines supply model redesign bringing their medicines supply service in-house and we are looking for a dynamic and motivated pharmacist to expand our supply service team. This role would be ideal for either a clinical pharmacist who wishesto specialise in mental health whilst continuing to maintain and develop their skills in general medicine or a pharmacist working in community pharmacy looking to move into the hospital pharmacy sector.
You will be part of a friendly, innovative and supportive pharmacy team, delivering a high-quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service to:
Adult and Older People's Mental Health wards
Child Adolescent Mental Health wards
Community Hospital wards/Palliative care
You will be part of the dispensary team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and assistants who support the medicines supply service from the Berrywood Hospital dispensary. Your role will support coordinating the clinical validation of prescriptions within the dispensary. Working closely with the dispensary team, you will support in managing the daily workflow to ensure an efficient and high-quality medicines supply service delivery. You will also provide pharmacy support and advice at ward level, supported by Medicines Management Technicians, attend consultant ward rounds, develop policies and guidelines, complete both national and local audits and be involved in the teaching of staff. Mental health experience is desirable but not essential
As Clinical Pharmacist for Dispensary and Inpatients Services, the post holder will:
Deliver pharmaceutical support to the inpatient areas and support medicines management throughout the organisation.
Support operational delivery of the supply of medicines from Berrywood dispensary
Deliver a specialist clinical pharmaceutical service to patients with mental health conditions and support the safe and effective use of both psychotropic and general medications throughout the hospital.
Support the clinical pharmacy service to Community Hospital inpatient areas, and provide ad hoc support to hospice inpatient units
Ensure risks within medicines management are identified and manage

This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools.We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Ensure compliance with all relevant medicinesrelated legislation and policy
Provide input to consultant ward rounds/team meetings.
Train, teach and supervise other members of the pharmacy team.
Provide education on medicines for other healthcare professionals, patients and carers.
Advise senior and junior medical staff and nurses on medicines management issues
