Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 clinical pharmacist to contribute to specialist mental health services across Wirral and surrounding areas. You will be part of a multidisciplinary pharmacy team delivering patient-centred care in hospital settings and supporting education and training.

The role includes medicines reconciliation, clinical governance, and leadership development within a trusted NHS foundation trust.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

Our dispensing service is fully outsourced, freeing you from dispensary commitments and allowing you to focus on clinical practice. In addition, on-call responsibilities are managed remotely, offering greater flexibility and work-life balance.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the planning and delivery of specialist mental health clinical pharmacy services as part of the CWP pharmacy team. This will include working as a member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that pharmaceutical care needs of patients are met, ensuring that medicines management standards are upheld in all areas of the trust and providing education on safe and effective use of medication to medical and nursing staff, patients and carers. The post holder will provide professional support and supervision to pre-registration and student pharmacists.

Person Specification Qualifications


  • Essential Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent

  • Registered as practising pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council

  • Evidence of continuing professional development

  • Evidence of clinical pharmacy training

  • Desirable Post graduate clinical or mental health pharmacy qualification

  • Knowledge and Expertise Essential Specialised and up to date knowledge relating to medicines management

  • Knowledge of NHS policy, process and guidelines relating to medicines management, pharmacy and mental health

  • Knowledge of clinical governance, clinical audit and risk management

  • Good IT skills - Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e-mail and web applications.

  • Experience Essential Post registration experience working in hospital pharmacy

  • Experience of implementing new procedures or guidelines
