Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for pharmacy professionals to join our multidisciplinary teams across Chester, Wirral and Macclesfield. The role focuses on clinical pharmacy services, medicines management and leadership in specialist mental health settings.

You will contribute to education, audits and service development, while supporting a flexible working approach where on-call duties are managed remotely.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Registered as practising pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Evidence of clinical pharmacy training.
  • Post graduate clinical or mental health pharmacy qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver specialist mental health clinical pharmacy services as part of the CWP team.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to meet pharmaceutical care needs.
  • Provide education on safe and effective use of medications to staff, patients and carers.
  • Supervise pre-registration and student pharmacists.

Our dispensing service is fully outsourced, freeing you from dispensary commitments and allowing you to focus on clinical practice. In addition, on-call responsibilities are managed remotely, offering greater flexibility and work–life balance.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the planning and delivery of specialist mental health clinical pharmacy services as part of the CWP pharmacy team. This will include working as a member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that pharmaceutical care needs of patients are met, ensuring that medicines management standards are upheld in all areas of the trust and providing education on safe and effective use of medication to medical and nursing staff, patients and carers. The post holder will provide professional support and supervision to pre-registration and student pharmacists.

Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent

Knowledge and Expertise
  • Specialised and up to date knowledge relating to medicines management
  • Knowledge of NHS policy, process and guidelines relating to medicines management, pharmacy and mental health
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, clinical audit and risk management
  • Good IT skills – Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e‑mail and web applications.
  • Specialist knowledge of mental health therapeutics
Experience
  • Experience of implementing new procedures or guidelines
