The wards work to a model of delivering person centred care. The frameworks used include both CLEAR and the Newcastle formulation model. The ward teams are made up of different disciplines and work closely together around a shared care plan. The psychologist on the ward contributes to making sense of peoples behaviours, and uses the formulation process to identify needs in order that least restrictive practice is required and that service users are discharged back home or to a suitable place of care.
