Job Title: Optometrist

About the Role

This role would suit an Optometrist who has 12 months post-registration experience and holds current GOC registration. You will be willing to expand your horizons and take the leap into the clinical side of optometry.

Our Optometrists provide independent eye care and make assessments on the need for cataract surgery, ensuring patients understand the risks and benefits and providing reassurance throughout.

If successful, we will support your professional development, including training for YAG Laser procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess and counsel patients regarding cataract surgery, including discussing expected outcomes.
  2. Ensure patients understand the risks and benefits of surgery with a considerate manner reflecting the patients' needs.
  3. Provide reassurance from the start to the end of the patient journey.
  4. Ensure post-operative management is undertaken with the support of medical staff.
  5. Undertake YAG laser procedures with training.

As a Clinical Optometrist, you will work alongside a wider clinical team to provide safe, effective, and efficient clinical care, focusing on patient-centric, independent eye care and assessments for cataract surgery.

  2. Motivated to develop and keenly interested in the clinical side of optometry.
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Understanding of clinical governance and commitment to high-quality patient care.
