A leading healthcare organization is seeking a band 6 nurse to join a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing outstanding care for children with learning disabilities and mental health challenges. Job summary
A great opportunity for a band 6 nurse with skills and knowledge in the field of learning disabilities has arisen within the CAMHS Learning Disability service.
The post holder will join an experienced multi-disciplinary team with clear clinical supervision and management structure.
The work will include assessing and understanding complex and challenging behaviour/mental health in children with behaviours of concern, understanding and implementing positive behavioural approaches and therapeutic strategies, providing recommendations and reviewing these with the child/young person, family and network.
Children and young people referred to the Learning Disability service have moderate to profound learning disabilities compounded by trauma, mental health difficulties and/or complex and challenging behaviour.

Main duties of the jobThe post combines direct clinical work with children and families with consultation to CAMHS, teaching staff, social workers and others. The work will include assessing and understanding complex and challenging behaviour, mental health, trauma work, developing positive behavioural approaches, direct work with children and young people.
