Job Opportunity: Clinical Nurse Specialist 8a

We have an excellent opportunity within the North Cumbria Inpatient Clinical Business Unit for a Clinical Nurse Specialist 8a role across our Acute mental health inpatient wards at Carleton Clinic, North Cumbria.

Role Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will contribute to the strategic development of nursing practice within the Clinical Business Unit. They will lead initiatives to extend boundaries and create frameworks for nursing enhancement within their specialty. The post holder will strive for excellence in nursing care and communicate this excellence internally and externally. Collaboration with the Nurse Consultant on nursing developments within this specialist area is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Specialist Practice: Providing specialist practice within the service for up to 80% of the role.
  2. Leadership and Advice: Offering professional leadership, advice, and clinical supervision.
  3. Service Development: Participating in service developments within the Clinical Business Unit pathways.
  4. Education and Training: Developing staff and other agencies through education and training, in conjunction with the Nurse Consultant, with formal academic links.
  5. Audit and Evaluation: Conducting audits and related activities on clinical practice, therapeutic interventions, and service evaluation involving service users and families.
  6. Strategic Development: Contributing to the nursing strategy development for CNTW Trust.
  7. Clinical and Professional Input: Offering clinical and specialist input across the designated pathway within the CBU, with close links to other Clinical Nurse Specialists in the locality and trust.
Candidate Profile
