Job summary

Scarborough Health Network in Canada is hiring Clinical Nursing Externs to join the Clinical Team. Externs will work as unregulated providers under the supervision of registered nursing staff. Nursing students are eligible if in their third or final year of formal nursing education.

This is a temporary contract with part-time hours across days, evenings, nights, and weekends. The focus is on providing direct and indirect patient care and gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative clinical

Qualifications

• Nursing students in year three or final year of a CNO-approved program.
• Current certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
• Evidence of excellent academic standing from nursing education.
• Willingness to work with a mixed patient population and adapt to unit needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care under supervision of registered nurses.
• Assist with patient assessments, vital signs, and daily living activities.
• Document care provided and contribute to care planning and evaluation.
• Support patient safety, comfort, and environment, incl. infection control.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and communicate with patients and families.
