Job summary

Nelsons Solicitors in the East Midlands is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our Nottingham team. The role involves managing a developing caseload of clinical negligence matters, building relationships with clients, and contributing to business development.

We welcome Newly Qualified lawyers or those with up to 5 years PQE in clinical negligence, offering a supportive environment, training, and hybrid working after probation.

Qualifications

• Newly Qualified or up to 5 years PQE in clinical negligence.
• Ability to manage own caseload and work in a busy environment.
• Strong organisation and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence files from inception to settlement/trial.
• Assess liability, quantum and merits, instructing experts and counsel as appropriate.
• Draft pleadings, schedules, witness statements and instructions to counsel/experts.
• Attend conferences, settlement meetings and mediations.
• Provide empathetic, clear and practical advice to clients.
• Contribute to business development and the wider profile of the team.
