Job summary

Nelsons in Nottingham, part of Lawfront, is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our specialist team. The role offers growth within a respected regional firm and the backing of a national group.

We are ideally looking for a Newly Qualified with a Clinical Negligence training seat, or someone with up to 5 years PQE to handle their own caseload and contribute to business development. Hybrid working and a supportive environment are provided.

The Role:

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our team of specialists who are recognised in The Legal 500. Due to continuing growth and success an excellent opportunity has arisen at our Nottingham office. We are ideally looking for a Newly Qualified having done a Clinical Negligence training seat or someone with up to 5 years post qualification experience in this area to join our expanding team of Clinical Negligence specialists. The successful candidate will inherit some existing cases initially and there will be a requirement to build upon this with a view to running their own full Clinical Negligence caseload.

We are looking for candidates with a positive and proactive outlook and approach who thrive on working in a busy and pressured environment and who are keen to play an active role in business development through attending networking and marketing events where necessary. Candidates will also be able to demonstrate that they are organised and articulate with excellent IT and administration skills and can work on their own initiative whilst embracing the culture of working in an open team environment.

On joining an established Clinical Negligence team handlinga high-quality, predominantly multi-track caseload. You'll work with a supportive team, dealing with complex and sensitive matters while making a real difference to injured clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence files from inception to settlement/trial.
• Assess liability, quantum and merits, instructing experts and counsel as appropriate.
• Draft pleadings, schedules, witness statements and instructions to counsel/experts.
• Attend conferences, settlement meetings and mediations.
• Provide empathetic, clear and practical advice to clients.
• Contribute to business development and the wider profile of the team
