Job summary

Slater and Gordon Lawyers in the UK seeks an experienced professional to join the Clinical Negligence Support Team as a New Claim Enquiry Vetting / Decision Maker. You will assess merits of new clinical negligence enquiries and decide on acceptance under the firm's Acceptance Framework.

The role suits someone with clinical negligence experience or a senior healthcare professional, with scope to supervise Paralegals and Legal Assistants.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant legal or clinical field.
• Experience assessing merits of clinical negligence claims or reviewing complex clinical information.
• Strong understanding of clinical negligence law and practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess new clinical negligence enquiries and applications.
• Analyse questionnaires and supporting information.
• Evaluate allegations and decide if enquiries meet the Acceptance Framework.
• Make recommendations and acceptance/rejection decisions with sound judgement.
• Liaise with prospective clients to obtain additional information.
• Supervise and support Paralegals and Legal Assistants.
• Maintain accurate records and meet KPIs.
