Opcare Limited in Cambridge is seeking a Clinical Lead Prosthetist for a 12-month secondment. This role offers an ambitious clinician the chance to develop management and clinical skills while leading the Prosthetic Clinical Team. Responsibilities include managing clinical operations and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve service delivery.

Successful candidates will have full HCPC Registration and proven experience as a Prosthetist. The role comes with a competitive salary and extensive benefits including a significant holiday allowance and family leave options.

Qualifications

• Practical experience as a Prosthetist is essential.
• Management or mentoring experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to meet Enhanced DBS Check requirements.

Clinical Lead Prosthetist (Maternity Cover) – Cambridge

We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetist to enhance their development on a 12-month secondment in Cambridge.

This role will provide an opportunity for an ambitious clinician to step into a position that will challenge them and provide opportunities to develop management and clinical skills in a supportive environment.

As an integral member of the Clinical Management Team, the successful candidate will manage the Prosthetic Clinical Team and provide support and insight to the technical team and wider NHS multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to advance and improve the delivery of the service.

The role will also involve working with a complex clinical case load and therefore clinical expertise in at least one area of prosthetics is essential, but there will also be opportunities to develop into different specialities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic clinical leadership for the Opcare Centre, setting direction, aligning with organisational goals, and representing the service in external partnerships.
• Line management of the clinical team, responsible for performance management, development, recruitment and appraisal processes.
• Oversee daily clinical operations, including workload management across the team, resource allocation, and operational efficiency to deliver seamless patient care whilst meeting KPI targets.
• Promotes a positive, supportive team culture that balances high-quality patient care with staff wellbeing, professional development and organisational performance targets.
• Ensures adherence to clinical standards and protocols and leads by example following prescription guidelines and associated targets and is responsible for embedding these with the team.
• Manages own clinical caseload alongside leadership duties, maintaining expertise in assessment, prescription, and treatment planning.
• Provides support to the centre manager for urgent day-to-day management tasks and to ensure smooth running of the service.
• Collaborates with technical teams to ensure accurate, timely manufacture of bespoke devices, minimise waste and maintain effective stock control.
• Facilitate and participate in MDT working, building strong relationships with NHS partners and other professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
