Cheshire East Council is seeking a Grade 10 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join their innovative Occupational Therapy Service. The role involves supporting the OT team, managing caseloads, and working flexibly within a hybrid model. Ideal candidates will have experience in health and social care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to supervise less experienced staff.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Grade 10 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our innovative and friendly Occupational Therapy Service here in Cheshire East. The therapy service is highly innovative and works closely with our health service colleagues with whom we have developed strong partnerships to improve client outcomes for the residents of Cheshire East. We are looking for experienced qualified OTs who have a range of post-qualifying experience, ideally including working within social care. We would welcome applications from OTs who have worked within adult and children's social care with knowledge of the relevant legislation and ability to support less experienced staff to manage complex situations.
The post holder will be based in the South of the Council (Crewe, Nantwich, Congleton and Sandbach) but there may be a necessity to travel to other bases in the Council. Cheshire East Council operates a 'flexible and mobile' working policy and hybrid working is available, with the main base being at Delamere house, Crewe.
The successful candidate will be working alongside and reporting to the Occupational Therapist Practice Manager to support the South's OT team.
What we are looking for:
• Enthusiastic and well-rounded HCPC registered Occupational Therapists with knowledge of health and social care and the ability to support the development and knowledge of less experienced colleagues. Experience of supervising colleagues is preferred.
• The candidate should be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and within the occupational therapy team and wider MDT. Organisational skills and time management is key to efficiently managing caseloads.
• The candidate should be able to provide a strengths-based approach to care and have an understanding of a variety of conditions and their potential impact on individuals.
• It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within the Council's policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive client documentation.
We are looking for OTs who can work in a fast-paced adult community setting and will need to have good communication skills, decision making skills and the ability to be creative in their work. The successful applicants will need to be able to adopt a flexible approach to their work and be a good team player.
