Job summary
We are seeking a Band 6 Clinical Lead for our female Adult Mental Health Ward (Esk Ward) at Cross Lane Hospital.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated registered nurse with the NMC, responsible for delivering clinical care focused on positive behavioural support. This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team committed to high standards of evidence-based care. You will play a key leadership role, ensuring clarity of ward aims and prioritizing patient safety. The position involves direct care tasks, rotational day and night shifts, and participation in the Duty Nurse Coordinator rota.
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership on the female adult mental health inpatient ward, working with a dedicated team. Essential qualities include a person-centred approach, strategic planning for patient care, and strength-based assessments.
You must possess excellent communication skills, maintain composure and confidence, and be resilient. Responsibilities include medication rounds, MDT meetings, liaising with professionals, ward reviews, and providing leadership in quality assurance through audits and supervision. The role also involves supporting team decision-making, managing complex issues, and assessing ongoing risks. Building therapeutic relationships with patients is essential, as is working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
