Job summary

Lavender Lodge Care Home in Derby is seeking a Clinical Lead to provide clinical leadership, oversee care plans, and mentor the nursing team. This role focuses on person-centred care, risk assessment, and maintaining high standards of nursing and wellbeing for residents.

You will lead audits, ensure CQC compliance, manage medications, and work with families and the MDT to deliver compassionate, safe care. NMC registration and dementia care experience preferred; weekend and shift flexibility

Qualifications

• NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult or Mental Health).
• Significant experience in nursing/care home with elderly and dementia care.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical skills in medication management, care planning and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and documentation; experience with digital care systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership across the home, ensuring high standards of nursing and personal care for all residents.
• Oversee and review care plans and risk assessments for accuracy and compliance with CQC.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor the nursing and care team with warmth and professionalism.
• Champion person-centred care by getting to know residents as individuals.
• Monitor residents' health and wellbeing and escalate concerns promptly.
• Ensure safe administration and recording of medications per policy.
• Build relationships with residents, families and the wider MDT.
• Support residents in end-of-life care with clinical skill and compassion.
• Lead audits, quality improvement and CQC compliance activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation for resident safety and team accountability.
• Promote a safe, welcoming environment adhering to H&S, infection control and safeguarding policies.
• Contribute to induction, supervision and ongoing development of care staff.
