Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced clinical leader to support three CAMHS teams across Greater Manchester. You will guide staff in managing complex cases, ensure adherence to legislation, and drive the development of robust clinical pathways with partner services.

The role involves providing leadership, structured supervision, and maintaining high standards of care while supporting risk assessment and complex case management within CAMHS.

Qualifications

  • Registered professional Nursing/Social Work/Occupational Therapist.
  • Degree or Diploma in a professional qualification.
  • Evidence of post registration training and/or experience to Master's.
  • Masters degree level is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership, support and supervision to clinical staff.
  • Support an identified team of practitioners with advice on managing complex cases.
  • Work as an integral part of the CAMHS Service including a small complex caseload.
  • Participate in extended working hours as required by service needs.
  • Provide clinical leadership and structured supervision to the team.
  • Maintain consistency and quality of care and timely discharge planning.
  • Support safe transitions in and out of CAMHS with partners.
  • Ensure clinical standards are monitored and high-quality patient care is delivered.

Job summary

This is an exciting new post created to offer clinical leadership and expertise to 3 community CAMHS teams in Bury, Oldham and Rochdale. The post involves offering expertise in working with children and young people presenting to CAMHS with a moderate to severe mental health need and other complexity around neurodiversity and or a Learning disability.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide guidance and support to clinical staff in the management of complex cases.
  • To provide guidance and support on relevant legislation.
  • To be responsible for the development and maintenance of effective clinical pathways between CAMHS and other services.
  • To provide additional leadership and guidance to other team members in risk assessment, risk management and positive problem solving and lead on debriefs following incidents.
  • Develop confidence and competence within the team for managing complex clinical cases and issues.
  • To take a lead role in the provision of clinical leadership and structured clinical supervision to the team.
  • To lead on and ensure that the team undertakes appropriate and in-depth assessments and on-going intervention, and undertake the duties and responsibilities of an active lead case manager role.

Job responsibilities
  • To provide clinical leadership, support and supervision to clinical staff.

Person Specification
Education/qualifications
Essential
  • Registered professional Nursing/Social Work/Occupational Therapist.
  • Degree or Diploma in a professional qualification
  • Evidence of post registration additional training and/or experience to Master's

  • Significant experience of leadership and proven track record of managing groups of staff and/or teams
  • Successful management and control of substantial and complex resources
  • Evidence of improving service quality
  • Successful track record of prompting, leading and implementing change programmes that drive up standards and service performance
  • History of holding responsibility and accountability for clinical decisions and empowering clinicians to make difficult clinical decisions
  • Evidence of high levels of competence with written documentation
  • Evidence of achieving high standards regarding CPA
Desirable
  • Personal Experience of mental health or experience through caring
  • Proven track record of successful strategic thinking
  • Experience of leading on audit and/or research activity related to clinical practice
