As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead to oversee our clinical operations and ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Clinical Lead who can come onsite to our Hammersmith office one day a week. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership within the pharmacy, ensuring that all clinical services are delivered in accordance with best practices, regulatory standards, and organisational policies. You will play a key role in developing and implementing clinical protocols, training Clinical staff, and enhancing the quality of care provided to our patients. Your expertise will be vital in promoting a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical governance oversight and guidance for all clinical operations, ensuring compliance with medical regulations and best practices in medication management and patient safety.
  • Protocol Development: Develop, implement, and review clinical prescribing protocols and guidelines to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality clinical services. Stay updated on current best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Staff Training & Development: Lead the training and development of prescribing staff in clinical practices, medication management, and patient care. Foster a culture of continuous professional development and ensure staff are equipped to provide exceptional care.
  • Patient Care Management: Oversee clinical consultations, medication reviews, and patient counselling services. Ensure that patients receive personalised care plans and support in managing their medications and health conditions.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality assurance initiatives to evaluate clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations and pharmacy management, to ensure a seamless integration of clinical services within the overall pharmacy operations. Collaborate with healthcare providers and stakeholders to enhance patient care.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyse clinical data to evaluate the effectiveness of services and inform decision-making. Prepare reports for senior management on clinical performance and patient outcomes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements related to clinical practice, medication dispensing, and patient care. Promote a culture of compliance and risk management within the pharmacy.

Requirements

We are looking for a medical doctor (GMC Registered) with a strong background in pharmacy practice and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Education & Registration: A valid medical degree and registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) as a doctor.
  • Availability to work in Hammersmith at least once a week
  • Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience within a pharmacy or healthcare setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of clinical pharmacy practices, medication management, and patient care principles. Familiarity with chronic disease management and pharmaceutical care is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate clinical teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive clinical improvements and inform decision-making.
  • Patient-Centric Approach: A strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and enhancing the patient experience.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with pharmacy management software or electronic health records.
