Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an experienced Healthcare Scientist to join the laboratory team. You will process a designated range of tests and perform technical procedures on patient samples using a variety of scientific measurements and advanced equipment.

The role requires training to operate complex instruments and the ability to work independently under indirect supervision from HPC registered practitioners, while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• HND in Biomedical Sciences or a science degree is desirable.
• Minimum of two years' experience as Healthcare Science Support Worker (Higher grade) with evidence of training and applied knowledge of a wide variety of laboratory procedures.
• Commitment to further educational development to HND level.

Responsibilities

• Processes a designated range of tests and undertakes technical procedures on patient samples using a range of scientific measurements.
• Trains to operate and maintain complex equipment.
• Work independently with indirect supervision from HPC registered practitioners.
• Adhere to policies and procedures relevant to all areas of work in accordance with Departmental, Directorate, Hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Performs a wide range of routine laboratory procedures on a daily basis.
