NHS Scotland invites applications for Clinical Fellows in Lower Limb Arthroplasty at the NHS Golden Jubilee, Glasgow. This role offers exposure to advanced surgical techniques and opportunities in audit and research. Ideal candidates should have completed basic Orthopaedic Registrar training and passed MRCS. Flexible working options supported.
Applications are invited for the positions of Clinical Fellows in Lower Limb Arthroplasty at the NHS Golden Jubilee, Glasgow, starting in February 2026 and August 2026. The initial contract is for 6 months with the potential for extension.
The Orthopaedic department at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital is one of the largest Arthroplasty units in the UK, with 25 orthopaedic Consultants, including specialists in foot and ankle surgery, as well as hand and wrist surgery.
The department performs approximately 4,000 primary and revision joint replacements annually, along with over 500 other elective orthopaedic procedures, including foot & ankle surgeries, soft tissue knee surgeries, and hand surgeries. The Foot and Ankle Unit is a high-volume centre for elective surgeries, including over 600 total ankle replacements each year.
Depending on the post, successful candidates will gain exposure to all aspects of modern hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic and computer-navigated knee replacements. Candidates are expected to participate actively in audit and research activities.
Applicants should ideally have completed basic Orthopaedic Registrar training and passed relevant examinations (MRCS is compulsory; FRCS Orth. is desirable). Candidates without MRCS will not be considered for interview.
