Job summary

Applications are invited for the above posts available from September 2025 at King's College Hospital. The posts will initially be for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Fellow post is suitable for individuals aiming to pursue a career in renal medicine. It offers comprehensive exposure to all aspects of Nephrology in a busy tertiary referral centre, with potential on-call responsibilities. This position serves as a valuable stepping stone towards applying for ST3 posts in Nephrology due to the experience gained.

Job responsibilities

This role involves clinical work at SpR/ST3+ or registrar level in adult renal medicine. There are additional opportunities for clinical research and management, depending on the training needs of the successful candidate. Candidates should have significant experience in renal medicine, ideally at registrar level or equivalent. MRCP or an equivalent qualification is highly desirable.

Person Specification

Full registration with GMC

  • Full registration with GMC on the date of taking up the appointment.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.

Desirable

  • Experience in performing renal biopsies and inserting dialysis catheters (non-tunnelled and tunnelled).

Minimum experience

  • A minimum of 4 months' experience in Adult Renal Medicine at SHO/CT2 level.

Desirable

  • Experience at SpR/LAT/Registrar level in Adult Renal Medicine.

Additional requirements

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A DBS disclosure will be required.
  • Applicants requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome; further details can be found on the Trust's website.
  • Applicants must hold current UK professional registration.
