A Clinical Fellow post in Palliative Medicine is available within NHS Tayside, based at Roxburghe House, Dundee. The post holder will become part of an innovative and dynamic multidisciplinary team seeking to deliver high standards of specialist palliative care in all settings, both in and out of hours. This is an excellent opportunity for applicants interested in developing a career in Palliative Medicine.
NHS Tayside has a Tayside-Wide Specialist Palliative Medicine Service which supports patients and staff in all health care settings including: home, nursing homes, community hospitals, two specialist palliative care units and two University teaching hospitals. The multidisciplinary team in Roxburghe House includes 3 consultants, 2 specialty doctors and various trainees (Palliative Medicine, Foundation Year and GP trainees).
This post is based in Roxburghe House, but applicants will have flexibility to work across sites within the Tayside Specialist Palliative Care Service. The post includes contribution to a Tayside Palliative Medicine on call rota which is approximately 1 in 7 (weekend and weeknights). Further detail about the on call component is included in the job description.
Applicants must have completed at least 2 years full-time post graduate training or have equivalent experience and competencies. Previous experience in Specialist Palliative Care or other closely related specialities is essential.
Applicants must have Full GMC registration and licence to practice; be post registration and have successfully completed Foundation Training, or have commensurate experience. Applicants must also have experience in palliative care or a closely allied specialty.
