We are inviting applications to join us as Clinical Fellow in Medical Education. The post would suit someone interested in a career in Psychiatry, who has completed their Foundation Training. We would consider experienced doctors at (CT1-3) level who are out of training for whatever reason and wish to do the same.
This is an exciting new role to enhance the provision of education for undergraduates and post graduate doctors across the trust. The Clinical Fellow will work closely with our education administration team, undergraduate lead, and the DME. The post holder would have the option to join a PgCert program whilst undertaking the post. Also specific training will provided to use our simulation platform AVATAr.
Main duties of the jobThe purpose of this role is to help deliver high quality medical education opportunities for undergraduate & post graduate doctors. The post holder will be supported to use different modalities of teaching including face to face teaching, remote learning, simulation platforms, asynchronous learning & developing on line learning platforms. The post holder will be expected to support or lead on quality improvement within education.
There are no specific clinical duties role attached to this role. There will be opportunities to gain experience in clinical areas that are offered in the trust. These would include opportunities in working age adult psychiatry, older adult psychiatry, intellectual difficulties psychiatry, forensic psychiatry.
The trust would support the post holder to engage in experience focused towards CESR accreditation for the future. If a post holder was taking time out of training schemes to complete this post then the trust would support an application for OOPE, & necessary reporting requirements in line with Health Education England & the RCPsych guidance.
