University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Cellular Pathology with a special interest in Haematopathology. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. The Trust is committed to high-quality patient care, innovative service models, performance targets, and excellence in education and training. This post offers a specialist training fellowship at the SpR level in Cellular Pathology with a focus on Haematopathology. It is suitable for trainees with at least three years of histopathology experience or recent FRCPath examination completion, aiming to gain expertise in this area. The successful candidate will work alongside Consultants and Specialist Registrars in Cellular Pathology to deliver haematopathology services to UCLH and network hospitals.
All candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration. The post requires full-time work (40 hours/week), with no on-call duties.
The appointee will undertake duties comparable to an experienced specialist registrar within the department, working in haematopathology and supporting other cellular pathology areas as needed. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic services to UCLH and referring hospitals, handling a broad spectrum of diagnostic cases, and supporting ancillary techniques. Rotation to diagnostic flow cytometry and molecular laboratories at Halo is optional.
The annual workload includes approximately 4,500 cases, such as lymph node biopsies, excisions, and bone marrow trephines, for diagnosis and follow-up. The appointee will report cases under supervision, contribute to departmental activities, assist in specimen cut-up, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.

This role requires a DBS check due to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975).
Salary: £61,825 per annum + London weighting (additional hours as per JD).
