Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board in Wales seeks Clinical Fellows in Acute Medicine to join Withybush General Hospital. This fixed-term post runs to 31 March 2027 and is open to staff currently employed by the Health Board.

You will assess and manage patients with acute medical conditions under Consultant supervision, ensure timely reviews and care, and participate in teaching, audits and quality improvement with the MDT.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' postgraduate clinical experience.
• Evidence of having achieved, or actively working towards, MRCP Part 1.
• A valid Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, investigate, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute medical conditions under Consultant supervision.
• Provide high-quality, safe and effective clinical care within the Acute Medicine service and ensure timely reviews, investigations and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including patient notes and discharge summaries; work with the MDT.
• Communicate with patients and families; participate in teaching, audit, quality improvement projects and governance activities.
• Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training activities; participate in departmental meetings and CPD.
