Job summary

Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Clinical Engineering Technician to support safe and reliable operation of a wide range of medical devices across clinical environments. You will perform PPM, calibration, fault-finding and repairs, and provide technical advice to clinical teams while ensuring ISO 9001:2015 compliance.

The role requires collaboration with wards, theatres, cardiology and external service providers to minimise downtime and maintain patient care continuity.

Qualifications

• You should be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to fault-finding.
• You will work with complex medical devices and maintain high technical standards.
• You will need strong communication and organisational skills.
• You will interact with clinical colleagues and external contractors.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repairs on medical equipment.
• Ensure equipment is maintained to high safety, quality and reliability standards.
• Undertake acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment.
• Provide technical advice and support to clinical staff.
• Coordinate servicing with external contractors to meet required standards.
• Support safe management of medical devices across the Trust and partners.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and service providers to minimise downtime.
• Comply with ISO 9001:2015 quality management requirements.
