Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Clinical Engineer - Associate Practitioner (Band 4) based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Princess Royal Maternity Hospital. You will join a team of clinical engineer technologists ensuring safe use and availability of medical equipment across NHSGGC.

Role involves maintenance, fault response, commissioning, and lifecycle management for over 55,000 devices across multiple sites with opportunities for competency-based training and development.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technology knowledge equivalent to SCQF Level 8.
• Experience in servicing, repairing, and fault-finding electrical or electronic systems.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and management of medical equipment across NHSGGC.
• Respond to faults and breakdowns in clinical areas.
• Commission and install new medical equipment.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance on medical devices.
• Calibrate and performance-test equipment.
• Carry out repairs on low-risk and non-complex equipment.
• Work with clinical staff to ensure equipment safety and availability.
• Maintain accurate records and lifecycle management of devices.
