Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Technician to maintain and test medical devices across King’s Mill Hospital and related sites. The role involves preventive maintenance, fault finding, acceptance testing, and assisting with device rollouts in clinical areas.

Regular weekend work is required. The post is permanent, band 4, with salary around £28,392–£31,157 per year, under Agenda for Change.

Qualifications

• Contribute to Clinical Engineering MEMD services including planned maintenance, repair, acceptance and condemnation
• Knowledge and skills applied to medical equipment include acceptance testing
• PPM and standard fault finding on medical devices
• Electrical safety testing and use of electrical/mechanical tools
• Computer technology and use of test equipment
• Clear communication and liaison with clinical colleagues

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), servicing, inspection and repair on a range of non‑complex to moderately complex medical devices
• Perform routine fault‑finding to identify and resolve issues using appropriate diagnostic techniques
• Support safe condemnation and disposal of medical devices
• Conduct acceptance testing for new and loaned equipment before clinical use
• Assist with rollout of newly accepted devices into clinical areas
• Contribute to Trust‑wide resuscitation equipment schemes to ensure readiness and compliance
