Clinical Educator (Research)

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will:

  1. Work with the IEH and UHL Education and Practice Development Team to identify research education and training needs, supporting the development of an innovative Trust-wide education program to enhance research competencies across UHL.
  2. Engage with clinical areas to promote research awareness and deliver education in research practice.
  3. Contribute to developing the IEH research infrastructure to support local research objectives.
  4. Collaborate with the Education and Practice Development Team to ensure clinical areas provide a positive environment for research practice for new starters, students, and learners.

Job responsibilities

Detailed job description and main responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborate with clinical colleagues across CMGs to deliver research education, practice, and evidence-based care.
  2. Lead in facilitating and providing research education and professional practice support within designated clinical areas.
  3. Participate in developing, implementing, and delivering competency-based research education, supervision, and assessment.
  4. Contribute to Trust-wide core training, including Preceptorship, Induction, OSCE Programmes, and Healthcare Support Worker Induction.
  5. Promote high-quality clinical care and support the development of practice meeting service and user needs.
  6. Support learners, supervisors, and assessors to enrich research learning experiences.
  7. Contribute to the education and training of Healthcare Support Workers.
  8. Maintain clinical credibility by working in practice settings and supporting clinical colleagues and patient care as appropriate.
  9. Assist in implementing UHL policies on induction and study leave, aligning with strategic goals.
