The Clinical Educator plays a significant and exciting role in improving the education and skills development of staff, students and people in the wider community. The Clinical Education team are passionate about empowering people to deliver the highest standards of patient care, achieving this through the development and delivery of high-quality evidence-based education, including clinical skills training and provision of mandatory and statutory training, with the aim of supporting improvement in confidence and competence to support safe and effective patient care. The Clinical Educator directly supports local delivery of the NHS People Plan and People Promise, helping to foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement and growth, supporting positive patient and staff experience both now and for the future.
The post-holder will support local delivery of the NHS People Plan and People Promise, specifically the domain ‘we are always learning’, through the provision of high quality education for staff, students and the local population.
Development and delivery of a broad range of education, learning and development activity across all disciplines, encompassing clinical education and clinical skills training, mandatory and statutory training.
Play a key role in the development and delivery of education programmes as part of the Trust’s Health and Care Academy.
Provision of training as part of the North Tees & Hartlepool Care Home Education Service.
Support and facilitate specific service improvement projects to deliver demonstrable and sustainable improvements in quality, safety, cost, staff and patient experience.

Create and update lesson plans.
Conduct training needs analysis, as required.
Maintain accurate training records including attendance, competencies and evaluation feedback.
Track mandatory/statutory training compliance in collaboration with the broader education function and clinical services/departments.
Effectively utilise/manage learning management systems.
Record and report outcomes from a range of education interventions, audits and evaluations.
Organise and schedule training delivery.
Adhere to information governance standards, including confidentiality.

Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS)
It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. The method of payment for this is via salary deduction from your first month's pay on commencement with the Trust. The DBs check will be undertaken during the pre-employment check screening.
Qualifications

New Starters – Probationary Period
For any new employees commencing employment with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period. Please note that internal applications and individuals that are appointed to fixed term appointments of less than 6 months duration are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff).
As part of our pre-employment screening process, all applicants are required to provide references covering their last three years employment history including any gaps. Working Hours
If the hours advertised for the post are up to full time (37.5 hours per week), applications are still welcomed from individuals who may be seeking to work less than full-time hours and all requests will be considered in line with the post being appointed to for the successful applicant.
