The post is suitable for a candidate who is in the middle or the end of training, to build and progress their training in the NHS whilst supporting our medical students. It would be a strong platform to build a portfolio for a CESR application.
The post holder will work within our acute team one day per week and provide a supervisory level of medical cover to the team, as well as provide teaching to a group of medical undergraduates.
The team are a supportive and cohesive group of 6 substantive consultants and a long term locum with whom you will conduct ward rounds, support inpatient and ambulatory care as necessary. The team are supported by a team of junior doctors and Advanced Clinical Practitioners who work in a collaborative, supportive way to deliver the best care possible.

Main duties of the job- To provide leadership and support the development of junior colleagues on the ward
- To take responsibility for and provide senior clinical support and supervision to the service
- Develop own knowledge and experience in medical education.
- To contribute to the development of our Undergraduate Teaching Programme for 4th year Medical Students
- To teach and support medical students to meet the learning objectives of their clinical placements at HDFT
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
- To maintain a high professional standard and actively participate in matters concerning patient safety and Clinical Governance
