Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Director (Nurse) to lead the Maternal Child Directorate. This strategic role involves leadership and operational management to ensure safe, high-quality care, resource utilization, fiscal management, and compliance with governance and accreditation standards. The role requires 24/7 accountability and may cover multiple directorates.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide clinical expertise and leadership within the Maternal Child Directorate.
  2. Lead strategic development and align business planning with organizational and community needs.
  3. Translate business plans into actionable objectives and oversee their implementation.
  4. Develop business cases for service changes and projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  5. Manage fiscal and human resources, planning for short, medium, and long-term needs.
  6. Produce and analyze quality compliance data for the Board, identifying trends.
  7. Address operational performance gaps with improvement plans.
  8. Ensure policies on clinical practice, risk, and patient safety meet regulatory standards.
  9. Maintain staffing levels and skill mix, managing deployment and line management.
  10. Lead staff training and succession planning, fostering a values-driven culture.
  11. Promote effective communication and staff engagement, supporting a positive environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s Degree approved by the Bermuda Nursing Council.
  • Extensive management experience in Maternal/Children’s Services.
  • Proven clinical management skills with leadership potential.
  • Experience in financial/risk management, quality improvement, and patient satisfaction.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Current registration as per Bermuda Nursing Council requirements (NMC / RSCN) is transferable.

Salary & Benefits

Almost tax-free salary of approximately $130k per annum, plus relocation support, 3 months free accommodation, flights, work permit, and more.
