Job summary

Yew Tree Centre is seeking a Clinical Deputy Manager to lead the clinical care in a 76-bed setting. You will deputise for the Registered Manager and combine hands-on nursing with leadership, mentoring and governance to ensure high-quality, person-centred care.

You will supervise nursing and care staff, monitor medicines management, and help prepare for CQC inspections while maintaining strong partnerships with GPs, district nurses and social care colleagues.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with unrestricted NMC registration.
• Sound knowledge of CQC standards and safeguarding.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and governance capabilities.
• Willingness to pursue management qualification if not held.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support nursing staff and care team with appraisals and competency checks.
• Ensure person-centred care plans and regular risk assessments.
• Oversee medicines management, audits and staff competency.
• Monitor clinical risks and respond to trends and incidents.
• Support admissions, hospital discharges and governance workflows.
• Lead clinical audits, safeguarding referrals and learning sharing.
• Collaborate with GPs, district nurses, hospices and social care professionals.
• Prepare for CQC inspections and maintain regulatory standards.
• Participate in rotas and on-call duties.
• Promote a positive culture prioritising residents' dignity and wellbeing.
