This role offers the opportunity to work with the Cornwall Paediatric Diabetes team, providing care for young people in Cornwall. The psychological impact of diabetes and it's treatment are well recognised and the longer term sequelae.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the provision of a high-quality specialist psychological services to the Paediatric Diabetes service line within Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.
To contribute to new developments within Diabetes Services in conjunction with key stakeholders.
To work autonomously in line with service requirements and within professional guidelines to exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service line.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and clinically relevant research.
To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by less experienced psychological professionals, doctoral trainee psychologists, counselling trainees, assistant practitioners, and other health professionals.
