Job summary

Cardiff Mindplace, part of Bupa Health Services, is seeking a Clinical Counselling Psychologist for face-to-face work in Cardiff. This permanent, part-time role supports patients with education and therapeutic interventions.

You will deliver assessments, group education, and collaborate with the therapy team; require Doctorate and HCPC registration; weekend work included.

Qualifications

• Professional doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology.
• HCPC registration as a Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
• General adult mental health experience.
• At least 1 year's post-qualification clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality therapeutic care with excellent clinical outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations for evidence-based intervention.
• Offer models of service delivery: face-to-face, telephone, or video consultations.
• Adhere to Bupa's case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the therapy team.
• Work within sessional limits based on the client's Private Medical Insurance allowance.
• Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.

Clinical / Counselling Psychologist - Cardiff Mindplace (Face to Face)

Location: Mindplace Cardiff, Driscoll Building, CF10 4BQ

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part‑time (minimum 2 days per week*)

Session Requirements

We can offer sessions from Monday to Friday - 08:00am - 16:00pm and 14:00pm - 22:00pm

These will include at least x 1 morning shift and x 1 evening shift per week

Weekend availability (including Saturday and Sunday)

5 appointments per day

About the Role

As a Clinical Counselling Psychologist within Bupa Health Services, you'll use your training and education to support our customers by providing education on how to live longer, healthier, happier lives. You'll spend most of your time with our customers, doing what you do best.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality therapeutic care with excellent clinical outcomes.
• Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations for evidence-based intervention.
• Offer different models of service delivery: face-to-face, telephone, or video consultations.
• Adhere to Bupa's case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the therapy team.

• Offer ad-hoc wellbeing support and coaching.
• Conduct one-off assessments and referral recommendations.
• Provide group psychoeducation and mental health awareness through remote presentations, workshops, and training.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa's service policies.
• Attend regular clinical supervision and monthly team meetings.
• Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to improve client and employee experiences.

Key Skills / Qualifications

Essential

• Professional doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society.
• Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Chartered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
• General adult mental health experience.
• At least 1 year's post-qualification clinical experience.

Desirable

• Training and accreditation in specialized areas of psychological relevance.
• Corporate experience.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
