If the above describes you, we would really like to hear from you.
We are excited to offer a 12-month Secondment to our band 8a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist post. The role is substantively funded, so the opportunity to apply to this as a permanent position is there.
We would welcome applications from specialities within and outside of the learning disability field. As a clinical or counselling psychologist you will have a range of transferrable skills such as psychological formulation, understanding of trauma-informed care and working systemically, which are relevant to the work of our team.
We are a community-based team, that provides intensive assessment and interventions during the core working week, to individuals who are at risk of admission to hospital with the aim of avoiding unnecessary admissions, as well as supporting individuals through discharge transition out of hospital. We work in close partnership with individuals, their families and carers along with the local community learning disability teams, care providers, inpatient services and social care.
You would join existing psychologists in a team where there is a strong ethos around multi-disciplinary working and where the contribution of psychology is highly valued. You will receive regular, good quality clinical and management supervision, along with opportunities for continuing professional development.

We put 'people at our heart'; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.
We're always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect.
Please see the Job Description attached. As a Secondment, this is a developmental opportunity if you are currently at B7 to experience and work towards some of the roles and duties of our B8a post.
