Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist to work with the Chief Pharmacist and NHS England specialised commissioning team in the Clinical Commissioning Pharmacist role.

You will contribute to the strategic development of the department, support cost-effective medicine use, and work across Frimley Health Trust sites, ensuring governance and best practice in high-cost medicines.

Qualifications

• Current clinical pharmacy experience with patient facing specialist or ward/clinic role.
• Experience of leading guideline development and implementation.
• Experience in commissioning and working with NHS stakeholders.
• Experience of education and training staff.
• Experience in quality improvement projects or audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy advice on NICE guidance and high-cost/tariff-excluded medicines to clinicians and MDTs.
• Support IFR submissions and optimise safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines.
• Develop, implement and monitor prescribing guidelines and treatment pathways.
• Lead on NICE and NHS England commissioning policies for high-cost drugs.
• Oversee governance of high-cost and non-tariff medicines; deliver QIPP initiatives.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and commissioners to influence prescribing and ensure compliance.
