Job summary

NVQ Assessor is recruiting for a contract Assessor role covering the M6 corridor, from Birmingham to Lancashire. The position is initially 3 months, 3 days per week, with potential extension.

You will visit learners in clinical healthcare settings, deliver diplomas, and support functional skills while maintaining an efficient diary and high-quality paperwork. You must hold an approved Assessor award and have experience delivering apprenticeships up to Level 5, with solid clinical healthcare

Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognised Assessor award (D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA).
  • Experience delivering full Apprenticeships in Clinical Healthcare up to Level 5.
  • Solid occupational experience in Clinical Healthcare as a Registered Nurse or Practitioner.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and support learners through full Diplomas and Apprenticeship standards in Clinical Healthcare up to Level 5, Health & Social Care, and short courses.
  • Provide additional support for Functional Skills (Maths / English / ICT) up to level 2.
  • Conduct 1-1 and group workshops, both face-to-face and online.
  • Visit/observe learners in their place of work to gather evidence toward qualifications.
  • Manage your diary to ensure timely visits and reviews.
  • Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
  • Support, advise and motivate learners through to end-point assessment.
  • Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners’ needs.
  • Meet Assessor KPIs in terms of timely visits, quality paperwork and administration.

Job description

For this position, candidates must be flexible with travel, across the M6 corridor (Birmingham to Lancashire). This is a contract, initially 3 months with the potential to be extended, 3 days per week.

Organisation skills are a must. The candidate must have the ability to plan their time effectively. Be confident and professional, and have the ability to inspire and motivate learners. They also need to be prepared to go the extra mile.

Your duties will include:

  • Assess and support learners through full Diplomas and Apprenticeship standardsin Clinical Healthcare (Adult Nursing and Theatre pathways),Health & Social Care up to Level 5, as well as short courses.
  • Provide additional support for the delivery of Functional Skills (Maths / English / ICT) up to level 2.
  • As part of the delivery, you will conduct 1-1 and group workshops, both face-to-face and online.
  • Visiting/observing learners in their place of work to gather evidence towards their qualifications.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Must hold a recognised Assessor award: D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA.
  • Must have experience in delivering full Apprenticeships in Clinical Healthcare up to Level 5.
  • Hold solid occupational experience working within Clinical Healthcare, as a Registered Nurse or Practitioner.
  • Ideally, be qualified for Level 5.
  • Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of a vehicle.
  • Must be flexible with travel and visiting learners outside of the normal 9-5 working hours.
PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE

When uploading this post we noticed a distinct lack of what we would consider required qualifications. To be an Assessor you would need to hold either an; A1/2, D32/33, or CAVA which we have a link to HERE . Similarly so, to be a FE practitioner, in other words, a Trainer, you should hold at a minimum the AET (Level 3 Award in Education and Training). The position does not ask for these so do not feel deterred to apply if you do not possess them. However, it is in our professional opinion you need to have either qualification before applying.
