Job summary

Thames Water invites applications for a Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy Manager. You will shape resilience and sustainability strategy, embedding natural capital thinking into decision-making and driving innovation across the organisation.

You will lead policy alignment, disclosures, and stakeholder engagement, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure long-term value and resilience for customers and communities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach across stakeholders.
• Strategic and analytical skills to join the dots and provide clear insights.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience developing and delivering climate change, sustainability or environmental strategies.
• Strong understanding of climate adaptation, mitigation, natural capital and sustainability frameworks.
• Knowledge of UK environmental policy, regulation and reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate across boundaries.
• Proactive, with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; curious about AI applications; numerate.

Responsibilities

• Lead Thames Water's climate change and sustainability strategy and risk management.
• Develop and embed the natural capital approach across decision-making frameworks.
• Build internal and external partnerships to deliver commitments.
• Scan policy developments to inform long-term planning and resilience.
• Maintain and evolve core sustainability policies aligned with priorities and regulations.
• Support disclosures and reporting, including climate-related disclosures.
• Influence investment and business planning to reflect climate, sustainability and natural capital considerations.
