Job description

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Climate Analytics – Disclosure Associate.

This role sits at the centre of how HSBC explains its financed emissions - covering both methodology and results - in external disclosures. You’ll coordinate drafting across reporting cycles, bringing together inputs from methodology, data analytics, finance, risk, sustainability, investor relations, legal, communications and assurance. The role also supports internal governance and controls so disclosures are evidence-based, traceable and audit ready. Success looks like clear and balanced publication-ready disclosures that reflect evolving industry guidance and regulatory expectations. You’ll help ensure key judgements, assumptions and year-on-year movements are well explained and consistently supported.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Draft and coordinate external financed emissions disclosures covering methodology narrative and results commentary
  • Prepare disclosure materials across reporting cycles with inputs from relevant technical and assurance stakeholders
  • Socialise draft disclosures with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts and incorporate feedback with clear traceability
  • Produce governance papers, briefing materials, responses to review questions and supporting audit trails and evidence packs
  • Monitor emerging expectations for financed emissions disclosures including PCAF and IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and translate them into disclosure implications
  • Coordinate cross-functional activity across stakeholders, systems and processes to deliver timely controlled external reporting outcomes

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bring knowledge or strong interest in financed and facilitated emissions reporting including PCAF-aligned approaches and Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 boundaries
  • Demonstrate strong writing capability that translates complex methodologies, calculations and limitations into clear external disclosure language
  • Manage stakeholders across methodology, data analytics, finance, risk, legal, investor relations and assurance to resolve disclosure wording and materiality judgements
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure disclosures are accurate, consistent and supported by evidence and governance decisions
  • Support first line of defence (1LOD) controls and second line of defence (2LOD) oversight through documentation, version control and evidence management
  • Own operational use of core programme tooling such as Helios, GMIS and EIM to keep governance processes effective and audit ready
  • Manage competing priorities across disclosure deadlines, governance reviews and stakeholder feedback cycles while maintaining quality
  • Bring substantial experience in finance, risk, sustainability, reporting, strategy or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate critical thinking by improving the clarity and robustness of financed emissions disclosures through constructive challenge
