The role:
The purpose of this role is to provide senior operational leadership, develop team capability, oversee the effective day‑to‑day running of the teams within scope and take a lead role in relevant project activity, providing clear direction, informed decision making and practical operational input as well as being responsible for operational implementation within the Client Services Function.
As our Client Services Manager, you will typically:
- Take responsibility for the overall management and performance of up to six Client Services Teams
- Provide senior leadership, direction and support to Team Supervisors and team members, ensuring priorities are clear, resources are aligned to business needs and performance expectations are understood
- Lead or contribute to relevant project work on behalf of Client Services, attending project meetings, providing operational insight and ensuring project activity is aligned to team capacity, service standards and client outcomes
- Responsible for operational implementation of change initiatives working in partnership with peers to ensure a standardised implementation across the function
- Monitor compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies, addressing any risks or breaches.
- Develop a culture of getting work right first time by implementing appropriate quality assurance, audit and review processes to identify and resolve areas of concern
- Develop and monitor departmental MI and workflow across all teams, ensuring activity is completed in line with company SLAs and agreed service standards, provide reporting to Senior Management
- Work with senior stakeholders and other managers to identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality, consistency, efficiency and client outcomes
- Promote and encourage a positive working environment across the Client Services Teams, ensuring co-operation, efficiency and outstanding service are consistently delivered
What we are looking for in our ideal Client Services Manager:
- Experience in a senior operational, client services or people management role, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
- Proven experience of managing multiple teams, Team Supervisors or managers, with the ability to deliver performance through others
- Experience of leading, supporting or representing a business area within project work, including attending project meetings, providing operational steer and making informed decisions
- Strong understanding of operational risk, quality assurance, workflow management and service delivery within a client‑focused environment
- Able to balance strategic priorities with day‑to‑day operational delivery, ensuring decisions are practical, risk‑aware and aligned to business objectives
- Confident working with senior stakeholders, challenging appropriately and influencing outcomes across teams and functions
