Job summary

eps.group services in Berkhamsted is seeking a qualified accountant to own a portfolio, lead client relationships and step into a genuine management role. You’ll be the trusted adviser for owner-managed businesses, overseeing their accounts, tax and advisory needs, reviewing work and mentoring the team.

You’ll also shape how the practice grows, support partners on new work, manage budgets, WIP and billing, and look for opportunities to improve clients’ financial performance.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with solid UK practice experience.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and reviewing others' work.
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax.
• Confident, commercial and client-focused communication.
• Proactive, ownership-minded approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients as their primary contact and trusted adviser.
• Review accounts, corporation tax and personal tax before sign-off.
• Spot advisory, planning and improvement opportunities for clients.
• Oversee budgets, WIP, billing and recoverability on your portfolio.
• Mentor, review and develop semi-seniors and seniors; support partners on growth.
